Well, we got it done! The truck driver in the enclosed car carrier called about 3:30 PM Friday (the 27th of Jan, 2011) and said his GPS indicated our street (Morgan Rd) was quite rural and a secondary road. I told him I had seen very large trucks on the road. Then he told me his rig was 83′ long! OOPSY..He called me when he was on Morgan Rd and told me “I should not be on this road!!! Nobody can get by me!!!” He was about 500 yards away so we, then directed, and diverted traffic (a total of three cars on our very rural road). You had to see it to believe it! It took about two hours on a dark, cold, foggy, rainy night, but a little blood, sweat and tears, plus the next-door neighbor’s tractor prevailed over the downpour and fog!

The three step-sisters are now together snug, warm and safe!

Steve McQueen was once known as “the King of Cool.” Driving around a 1963 ferrari 250 and roasting the tires on the legendary 1968 Mustang Bullitt sure didn’t hurt that image.

Paul Newman started his career off in the lime light of the big screen but quickly found a calling in the race world. The first picture was
from 1979 where he won the C Production Championship in his Datsun 280zx turbo.
The black and white is a picture from the 1984 Trans-Am 100 race where Newman
took 9th place in his 280zx. Funny side note: Newman never pocketed any money
from his sponsor Budweiser, he would only accept cases of beer for his place finishes.

The offbeat western TV series Maverick sped James Gardner to stardom in the late 1950s, and this 1970 Porsche 911 is one of the sports cars he sped around town in.

James Dean had been given the nickname ‘Little Bastard’ by Bill Hickman, his language coach. When Dean introduced himself to actor Alec Guinness outside the Villa Capri restaurant in Hollywood, he asked him to take a look at Dean’s new 550 Spyder. Guinness thought the car appeared ‘sinister’ and told Dean: “If you get in that car, you will be found dead in it by this time next week.” This encounter took place on September 23, 1955, seven days before Dean’s death.

Elvis Presley’s famous 1955 Pink Cadillac Fleetwood sedan, his mother Gladys’ favorite automobile, and probably the most famous car in the world parked in front of Graceland.

Here’s a look at two of Clark Gable’s motorcars. The first is a 1934 Duesenburg, and the second is a 1932 Packard Twin Six.

The most infamous criminal of all, Al Capone drove a luxurious and powerful 1930 Cadillac V-16 Imperial Sedan. Scarface’s bulletproof “Fortress on Wheels.”

Here’s a flashback of the 1969 Ford Shelby Mustang GT 500.
Hot off the car lot in the late 1960′s you could find this baby doing 0-60 mph
in 4.8 seconds with a top speed of 134 mph.  It was able to accomplish this
with a 7.0 L engine that produced 355 bhp with 420 ft/lbs of torque.

Since 1969 Ford has made drastic improvements to the
performance of the Mustang.  Now you can expect over 550 bhp with around
510 ft/lbs of torque.  The top speed on the GT 500 is around 155 mph due to
U.S. regulations and it can do 0-60 mph in 4.3 seconds.

When
the Challenger was launched it was superior to its Pony Car rivals.  Its
340 cubic inch HEMI engine put out an impressive 425 bhp with 345 ft/lbs of
torque.    

The
return of the iconic Dodge Challenger brings what pony car fanatics crave:
ground shaking performance, unmistakable design cues reminiscent of the original
Challenger.  The 370 cubic inch HEMI puts out 425 bhp with 420 ft/lbs of
torque.  It has a top speed of 140-150 mph and does 0-60 in 5.1 seconds.

The 1969 ZL1 Corvette offered an all aluminum 427 cubic inch
motor that put off 430 bhp with 420 ft/lbs of torque.  Trying to keep
insurance cost down for their Vette owners Chevy knowingly put restrictive
exhaust manifolds to keep the horsepower below 450.  With the swap out of
the exhaust one can expect to gain about 155 bhp bringing the total horsepower
to around 585 bhp.

The
2012 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is the most powerful and fastest production car ever
produced by General Motors.  With a 6.2 L supercharged engine owners of
this beast will be sitting behind 638 bhp and 604 ft/lbs torque.  In 3.4
seconds this Vette can go 0-60 mph along with a top speed of 207 mph.

The Chevy Camaro was designed to compete with the Ford Mustang
and although its handling was much better, the overall speed of the Camaro fell
a little short.  Chevy used a 302 CI motor that was claimed to put out 290
bhp and 290 ft/lbs of torque but the reality is the 302 engine put out about 360
bhp they just wanted to help out their customers by keeping insurance prices
low.

Here’s a look at the Chevrolet Camaro Zl1.  It comes
Supercharged off the lot pushing 580 bhp with 556 ft/lbs of torque.  This
Camaro will do 0-60 mph in 3.6 sec and has a top speed around 175 mph.

This 1969 Dodge Charger R/T comes ready to race with a 7.0 L,
426 cubic inch engine.  This monster puts out 425 bhp with 491 ft/lbs of
torque.  The top speed is a little over 130 mph with a 0-60 time of 4.8
seconds.

Speed can come with four doors.  Here’s a peek at the
Dodge Charger SRT-8.  It comes loaded with a 6.1 L engine that puts out an
astonashing 425 bhp and 421 ft/lbs of torque.  The top speed is 164 mph and
can do a 1/4 mile in 13.2 seconds.
